Rally for Illinois Jobs and Energy, Aug 25th
With unemployment nearing 10% in Illinois and families struggling to make ends meet, Congress and the administration are debating policies that would raise taxes on energy and impose climate and energy production restrictions that would drive up energy prices, stymie business expansion and eliminate jobs! We need to tell our elected officials we need LOWER TAXES, AFFORDABLE ENERGY and MORE ILLINOIS JOBS. Join the Illinois Energy Forum and former Chicago Bears coach, Mike Ditka, at our upcoming RALLY FOR ILLINOIS JOBS AND ENERGY on September 8th. Click here for more details and JOIN US!
EPA Deadline Looms, Threatening Local Illinois Economies, May 14th
An end of May deadline is looming for EPA to decide if they are going to change ozone standards. And although this may seem to be a minor regulatory change that benefits the public, in reality it is a potentially damaging economic setback to local communities with minor health benefits for the public. Furthermore, most counties will be unable to comply with the new standards; threatening their ability to issue permits to allow businesses to develop new opportunities, or expand current enterprises that could bring new jobs to our state.
Heating your home, riding the “L” train, flipping on light switch and charging a cell phone are all impacted by the price and of availability of energy. How we as Americans address the “energy issue” will impact the livelihood of generations to come.
It is difficult to cut through the cacophony of noise surrounding the current energy debate. As a lifelong Illinoisan, I continue to be frustrated at the misinformation and political point scoring for one party or another. To that end, I am I am excited to introduce you to the Illinois Energy Forum. We are committed to providing factual, unbiased information about all aspects of the energy issue, aiming to achieve a sensible, balanced solution to our energy needs.
